Sanlúcar in a small city in Andalucía in southern Spain. I had heard about this beautiful place for years through my roommate whose friends, the Hidalgo family, have a bodega there that produces sherry. This area of Spain is special for my family; my sister in law Cindy was born near there, my cousin Andy married his wife Carmen there, and my dear friend Erika who introduced me to the town, was also married there. At both weddings we celebrated with local wines and delicious local dishes.
The blue in this pattern is reminiscent of the Costa de la Luz, where the Atlantic meets the coast of Spain. The triangular pattern represents the three cities in this region and how they appear on the map; Sanlúcar, Jerez, and Cádiz, respectively.
